Argentine Mussano is no stranger to the world championship having contested the WRC Academy rounds in Portugal, Italy and Finland in 2011 alongside countryman Miguel Baldoni. He co-drove Daniel Oliveira when the pair contested the Argentine championship in 2009 and deputised for the injured Carlos Magalhaes alongside Oliveira during the closing two rounds of the 2011 season in a MINI John Cooper Works WRC.

For 2012, Mussano was navigator for Nicolas Fuchs in a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X. In total, the pair accumulated 73 points throughout the season, placing them sixth in the overall standings. Their best result was a victory in the penultimate event in Sardinia. They will be hoping that more victories are forthcoming in this year's WRC 3.
