What is
PWRC?

Now in its 24th season, the Production Car World Rally Championship (PWRC) is the longest running support series of the World Rally Championship and the principal series for cars of near-showroom specification.

The PWRC is open to drivers or teams using cars homologated in the Group N category with four-wheel drive and two-litre turbocharged engines. The Production Car Cup, which runs within the PWRC, is open to drivers of two-wheel drive cars running in the R1, R2 and R3 classes.

These series are called ‘production’ because the cars that take part are not heavily modified, unlike the World Rally Cars or Super 2000 machines.

Seven of the 13 WRC rallies this year count towards the PWRC. Participation in six of the seven events is mandatory, with entrants nominating their six events before the start of the season.
