Sordo rewards

Dani Sordo has rewarded the Prodrive WRC Team for its efforts in restoring his MINI John Cooper Works WRC to full working order by going fastest of all on stage 10 of RallyRACC-Rally de Espana.

The Spanish hero was 4.4s faster than event leader Sebastien Loeb through the 20.48-kilometre La Mussara test.

Sordo was late leaving midday service in Salou while his Prodrive engineers rectified the glitch that had dropped the engine onto three cylinders this morning. Afterwards, Sordo, who was one minute away from going over the permitted time limit in service, said: “I’m going flat out, maximum.”
