Smyth
on the mend
following
surgery

Rhianon Smyth, who co-drove her brother Brendan Reeves in the inaugural FIA WRC Academy this season, is set to make a full recovery following an operation last Monday to remove a rod from her right tibia.

Smyth almost lost her life in a crash on the final round of the Australian Rally Championship in 2009 when she and her brother hit a tree at high speed in their Subaru Impreza. She has undergone six operations since the accident and Monday’s procedure means that all the supporting metal rods have been removed from her body.
