Less than a week after Sebastien Loeb clinched world title number nine with victory on Rallye de France, gamers across the globe can drive like the Citroen ace.

Milestone, the largest developer of videogames and publisher for consoles and Windows PC in Italy and recognised worldwide as a leading studio specialising in racing titles, has confirmed WRC 3 FIA World Rally Championship is now on sale and marks a radical departure from the previous titles in the series.

With new graphics and game engine, all developed in-house, WRC 3 offers three main game modes - Road to Glory, the newly designed career mode, WRC Experience, which puts the player in the shoes of a professional rally driver, and WRC Online, the multiplayer mode.

The game features all rallies included on the 2012 WRC calendar complete with 54 WRC teams and drivers. Milestone has streamlined every aspect of the game to give new players instant gameplay satisfaction, while still allowing experienced rally gamers to explore the game’s full range of features and drive a WRC car from the comfort of their own home.

“WRC represents a [complete] reboot for Milestone,” said the firm’s Luisa Bixio. “We’ve tried to include all the most requested features and we’ve worked with all the most famous drivers and teams for offering the best WRC experience ever. Of course this is just the beginning. We’re preparing new exciting WRC 3 DLC, which will be announced in the upcoming weeks, and new exclusive surprises for all the rally fans.”

WRC 3 is available from 12 October for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®3, Windows PC and on 26 October 2012 for PlayStation®Vita and PlayStation®Store.
