Ahead of the German squad’s official 2013 launch in Monaco this Saturday, Ogier has told WRC.com that he needs to rediscover his ultimate pace in a World Rally Car having spent 2012 piloting a less powerful and less advanced Super 2000 Skoda Fabia.
“About the car we don’t know exactly if it will be really possible from the beginning [to win],” said Ogier. “About myself I might need a bit of time to be in the perfect rhythm in a WRC car. For sure the rhythm is a bit different and I hope it will not be difficult to be back in a WRC car although I am confident I can do it.”
Despite being able to extend his tally of seven WRC wins in 2012, Ogier says he was able to improve as a driver during the past season.
“First in terms of experience it’s good to do another year and learn more the stages of the championship, that’s a good point,” said the 28-year-old French star. “Also, I have been able to take a background view of the championship and to analyse more what’s happened. I am sure it will be helpful for the future.”
