Neuville worthy
of Citroen
chance, say fans

One of the FIA World Rally Championship's brightest young talents is the man users of WRC.com want to partner Mikko Hirvonen in the factory Citroen team as Sebastien Loeb's full-time replacement next season.

Fans have been voting for whom they want to link up with Hirvonen at Citroen in 2013. With one day of polling remaining, Thierry Neuville has received 22 per cent of the vote with Dani Sordo getting 20 per cent and Mads Ostberg 16 per cent.

Voting closes today and the shortlist of 10 drivers that could partner Citroen’s new team leader Hirvonen in 2013 and the results so far are now online. Simply click here to vote and keep visiting WRC.com for more polls.

Meanwhile, Neuville’s immediate focus will be on this week’s Rallye de France Alsace where he will be competing in a Citroen Junior World Rally Team DS3 WRC.

“You have to look at this season as a whole, with a series of steps to be taken to make progress,” said the 24-year-old Belgian. “In Wales, the team told me not to worry about times and to try and complete the rally without making the slightest mistake. I know that I wasn’t always on the pace of the leaders, but I still set some good times on the stages where I felt the most at ease. In France, my aim will be to do the same thing... but do a little better. I’d be pleased if I could get close to the level of performance I enjoyed at Rallye Deutschland, without overstepping the limits.”

Citroen is due to announce Hirvonen’s full-time team-mate in the coming weeks.
