Monster World Rally Team: first pictures

Monster World Rally Team: first pictures

The newly formed Monster World Rally Team has released pictures of its Rally America Championship 'Open Class' Ford Fiesta, featuring a striking team livery which will be carried across to the team's Ford Focus in the 2010 World Rally Championship

The team has also confirmed the WRC events lead driver Ken Block will tackle in his Focus this year, as well as the events in the USA he will contest with the Fiesta.

The new livery features a white base car (and interior) onto which the black and green Monster colour scheme appears to have been dripped. The livery also carries a bright orange splash logo for DC Shoes, the skateboard footwear company Block co-founded, as well as branding for the video game, Dirt2, in which Block had a starring role.

A source within the team confirmed to wrc.com that Block's Focus RS WRC livery will look 'very similar' to the Fiesta's.

Block will tackle a seven round WRC programme with the M-Sport-run Focus in 2010, starting with Rally Mexico on 5-7 March. His programme also includes the rounds in Turkey, (16-18 April), Portugal (28-30 May), Germany (20-22 August), France (30 September - 3 October), Spain (22-24 October) and GB (11-14 November).

In a parallel programme, Block and co-driver Alex Gelsomino will drive the Fiesta S2000 on the following events in the USA:

Rally America Championship:
Sno*Drift: 29-30 January
100 Acre Wood: 26-27 February
Olympus: 24-25 April
Oregon Trail: 14-16 May
STPR: 4-5 June
New England Forest: 16-17 July

The pair will also compete in X Games XVI between 29 July and 1 August.
