One giant leap for Ostberg

WRC.com is looking back on the FIA World Rally Championship season just gone by picking out some of the epic images captured by the McKlein photographic agency that made 2012 one to remember.

October: Mads Ostberg finished 2012 as the top privateer in the FIA World Rally Championship on the back of a brilliant campaign with the Adapta World Rally Team, which included his maiden victory on Vodafone Rally de Portugal in April and scoring points on all 11 rounds he started at the wheel of his Ford Fiesta RS WRC. This is the young Norwegian flying to fourth place on Rally Italia Sardegna alongside co-driver Jonas Andersson. For once, however, Ostberg wasn’t the highest-placed Ford finisher with Evgeny Novikov taking second behind Citroen’s Mikko Hirvonen. Ott Tanak finished third in another Fiesta.
