Images of 2012:
No bridge too far

WRC.com is looking back on the FIA World Rally Championship season just gone by picking out some of the epic images captured by the McKlein photographic agency that made 2012 one to remember.

May: Armindo Araujo was by no means a big hitter in terms of the final outcome of the Acropolis Rally, Greece’s round of the WRC, but this image of the Portuguese crossing the Corinth Canal shortly after leaving service in Loutraki en route to a special stage is truly spectacular. For the record, Araujo finished 11th overall in his MINI John Cooper Works WRC, more than half an hour behind Citroen’s rally winner Sebastien Loeb. Despite his best efforts, Araujo wasn’t even the first MINI finisher home with Abdulaziz Alkuwari completing the event in 10th overall to score his first world championship point.
