Guerra, who won the FIA Production Car World Rally Championship title in a six-way title showdown in Spain last month, will represent Team Americas in Saturday’s Nations Cup event, which takes place ahead of the Champions of Champions contest on Sunday.
“It’s amazing to be here with all these great drivers - a dream come true,” said Guerra, whose rivals at the Rajamangala Stadium in Thailand include Formula One world champion Sebastian Vettel and MotoGP winner Jorge Lorenzo. “I follow all types of motorsport so all of them are my heroes. When I heard the news that I was coming it was 02:00hrs in Mexico and I woke up my dad to tell him the news. The race itself is a bit like a superspecial stage for us rally drivers.”
Also in action will be last year’s Race of Champions winner Sebastien Ogier, who travelled to Thailand after helping to launch Volkswagen Motorsport’s assault on next year’s WRC with its fleet of Polo R World Rally Cars.
