Ten questions
to: PG Andersson

PG Andersson made history when he won the first stage of the new World Rally Car era in Sweden in February. Currently chasing the backing to contest Rally Finland, Andersson says he would be laying roads if he were not competing in the WRC.

What’s your favourite place in the world and why?
“I like Thailand when I was there on holiday. It was relaxed with a bit of everything, good food, good beaches.”

How well did you do at school?
“I was middle but I didn’t care so much. Sports were my favourite subject, I thought things like maths and science were boring. English was boring also but maybe I should have put more effort into that.”

What was your favourite toy as a child?
“When I was a young child you had these cars where you had your knee on the top of it and the steering wheel, which you used with the other foot.”

If you were stranded on a desert island what three items would you need to survive?
“A large book, sun cream and something to eat.”

If you hadn’t become a rally driver what job would you be doing now?
“I probably would have been at home laying Tarmac, building roads. It would have been okay but driving rally cars is better.”

What’s the most annoying thing about your co-driver Emil Axelsson?
“I haven’t been with him for such a long time so I haven’t found any really annoying things. I’ll have to pass on that question.”

Who is the unsung hero in the M-Sport Stobart team?
“Maybe Henning is one of the most unrecognised people. He’s got a good character.”

What’s in your favourite sandwich?
“Ham and cheese, that always works.”

What would you do on your perfect day off?
“I would be out in the forest hunting and waiting for a big moose to come.”

Your team boss Malcolm Wilson is coming over for dinner. What would you cook for him?
“Elk steak with potato and a good sauce. I’m good at making that.”
