My Christmas.
By Hayden
Paddon

The 2012 FIA World Rally Championship season may have come to an end, but have you ever wondered what rally drivers get up to over the festive period?

As part of a new feature on WRC.com, we are asking stars from the WRC where they will be celebrating Christmas this year. First up, Hayden Paddon.

“I’ll be spending Christmas back in New Zealand which will be nice after spending so much time out of the country this year,” said Paddon, who finished fourth in this year’s Super 2000 World Rally Championship. “I’ll be at home with my family and it’ll be a typical Kiwi affair - casual with lots of relaxation and most definitely the odd Barbeque.”

“Between Christmas and New Year, I plan to spend a day camping at some lakes in the middle of the South Island before returning home. The weather is usually pretty nice at that time of the year so I like to make the most of it and spend it outside,” added Paddon.

And what does a 25-year-old rally driver want for Christmas? “A winning lottery ticket to fund next year’s rally programme would be the perfect gift!”
