Valence and the surrounding towns are home to many budget hotels which make attending the rally less expensive than if you were staying in Monaco for three nights. Hotels range from 30 euros a night to well over 100. The WRC teams will have secured many of the best rooms, often a year in advance, but lodging just outside the town is easy and rooms are readily available.
Hotel chains Formule 1, www.hotelformule1.com Novotel, www.novotelvalance.com Mercure, www.mecure.com Comfort Inn, www.hotels-valence.com and Ibis, www.hotel-ibis-valence.com each offer accommodation in the city.
For those who want the best in stylish accommodation and gastronomic delights - and have a budget to match - then Maison Pic, www.pic-valence.com is the only choice. Situated in the heart of the city, not far from the service area, rooms range from 250 to 450 euros per night, while dinner in the Michelin 3-star restaurant will set you back about 100 euros per head. Further information about Maison Pic, and all the other hotels in the city, can be found on the website of the Valence tourism office: www.valencetourisme.com
While Valence is the most logical base from which to follow the action on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, on Sunday the event relocates 400km southeast to Monaco. And if you want to watch the Superspecial on Sunday, you should probably do the same.
