Stobart Ford team drivers Matthew Wilson and Scott Martin took time off from a punishing schedule at the Rally de Espana to teach a couple of novices a thing or two about tarmac driving.
The Stobart pair challenged fellow Brits Neil Cole - host of the DAVE Channel's World Rally coverage in the UK - and comedian Rufus Hound, to a showdown at Karting Salou for a 10 lap sprint around the 800m circuit.
Both Wilson and Scott imposed themselves early on in the race, with Cole snapping at their heels and Hound (perhaps preserving his tyres) driving at a more relaxed pace some distance behind.
Comedian Hound then made the most of his detailed pacenotes to take advantage of a big cut, putting himself back in contention, but it wasn't enough. Matthew and Scott's racing pedigree shone through, with Wilson eventually taking top honours ahead of his co-driver. Neil Cole took a respectable third, not too far behind, while fourth place belonged to Rufus Hound.
At the end of a tense race, Rufus, a comedy circuit regular had this to say: "You have to ask yourself who won morally? Was it the people who went so quickly they didn't take in the innate beauty of this course or was it the man who took a little time to smell the flowers..?
