So, while I arrived in Finland on the verge of a nervous breakdown Colin breezed into arrivals looking serene having got a taxi to the airport. I knew I was doing something wrong.
But less of the stressful stuff. First day in Finland and its been glorious so far, weather wise and work wise. The service park is a hive of activity with the finishing touches being applied to the service bays and work areas. Colin has headed to the stages complete with his brother Simon who will be our second stage end reporter this weekend. Yup, two Scottish Clarks on the show - be afraid, be very afraid! I'm setting up the service park studio, giving the equipment a bit of a once over with a duster after its six weeks of hibernation. A woman's work is never done.
It's good to be back and even better to be kicking off the second half of the season with a classic. Finland is a belter of a rally, in every respect. The full rally experience is here if you are brave enough to come and try it! From spectating on some of the fastest stages in the world to sampling the abundance of pear cider. It's got it all.
We are brave and we will be diligently experiencing everything in the name of journalism and reporting our findings back to you guys over the weekend. Promise.
Coming up on this weekends show, Henning Solberg is at the reigns of World Rally Radio guiding us through his musical choices and interviewing various folk he stumbles across, Mikko Hirvonen keeps an audio diary of his Rally Finland experience and we find out from the drivers and spectators why Finland is so special. Add to that a mixture of competitions, fabulous stage end interviews, a bit of humour and countless drivers names pronounced incorrectly and we have ourselves a radio show.
