Prokop pays
tribute to
co-driver

Martin Prokop has been using Neste Oil Rally Finland to pay tribute to co-driver Bohuslav Ceplecha, who was killed in an accident on Rally Bohemia in Czech Republic last month.

Prokop was friends with 35-year-old Ceplecha, who partnered Martin Semerad on a number of world and Czech championship rallies.

His Ford Fiesta RS WRC has carried a message of remembrance to Ceplecha during this week’s FIA World Rally Championship round.

“He was a friend of mine, we were racing in Czech together and that’s why I wanted to do this,” said Prokop. “It was a big shock for us that this should happen so we wanted to remember him.”

Prokop is currently ninth overall in Finland but admits he hasn’t been on top form.

“We were losing the speed a lot from the beginning but we are trying to improve every stage by working with the data,” said Prokop. “It’s getting better but you can’t change things in a minute, you must work on it.”
