Dani Sordo
answers
your
questions

Dani Sordo took time off from his preparations for his home round of the FIA World Rally Championship in Spain last week by answering a selection of questions sent in by users of WRC.com. Here are his answers.

Jeronimo Aliaga, Argentina: If you hadn’t been a rally driver what would you have done for a job? “I don’t know, I have never thought but something where I can go fast, like on a track.”

Jaume Soler, Spain: What rallies could you have won against Sebastien Loeb had you not been under team orders at Citroen? “You never know. It’s a question you can’t answer because it’s very difficult to say.”

Jonathan Mallia, Malta: How difficult was it for you when you learned Citroen wouldn’t be offering you a new deal for 2011? “It was difficult but at the same time I was really motivated to start in a new team and with an organisation like Prodrive. It’s difficult when you love a team but there was another team waiting.”

Jerome Demonchaux, France: Would you consider a part-time seat with Citroen over a full-time campaign with a team like Prodrive or M-Sport? “I prefer some rallies with a top car to win rallies, I prefer this.”

Kaimar Taal, Estonia: What was the best result of your WRC career and why? “The best moments are always the podiums and when you are fighting for victories. My first rally with the World Rally Car [Monte Carlo in 2006], my first sensation in a car like this was really nice. Also my first podium was in Spain and this was nice.”

Lisa Carpenter, Australia: Is it true you still live at home with your parents, and if so, do you help with the cooking and cleaning? “I cook and clean but I don’t live with my family. I live really near but not in the same house. I can do pasta and meat and cleaning I can do too. I don’t like to clean but cleaning I do very well because it’s an easy job.”

Victor Miller, Barbaods: How do you keep motivated when your first victory in the WRC continues to elude you? “You are always motivated because you always believe you will win. I really want to win and this keeps me going.”

Kurt Becker, Germany: Football is a big sport in Spain. Which team do you support and are you any good at playing football? “I don’t like football so I don’t like any team. I like MotoGP, tennis, cycling but football I don’t like.”

Jo Andersson, Sweden: You’ve had a lot of time off this year. How do you keep busy when you are not driving in the WRC? “I do sport and I do another small business I have at home with the karting. I still do a lot of things and also I live near my friends so I have some time with them.”

Miguel Perez, Spain: Having driven go-karts and done some hillclimbs, would you consider copying Sebastien Loeb and trying another form of motorsport instead of WRC? “I like touring cars, I really like DTM but at the moment I am in the rallying because it is the sport I love more.”
