Here's an extract from Khalid's first blog entry:

"Sweden was always going to be the biggest challenge for me, as the conditions here are as different to those in my home in Abu Dhabi as I will experience in the whole of my ten-rally program for 2008. Stories of those kinds of temperatures, sheet ice on the stages, snow-banks you can lean on to keep the car on the road - it’s completely alien to me living in Abu Dhabi. At the coldest time of the year, the lowest temperature is still greater than the highest temperature here in Sweden, even at night! I was camping in the desert a few weeks ago and it felt cold at night but it’s even colder here, during the day. I just don’t seem to be able to get warm!"
