Wilks Leads P-WRC

Wilks Leads P-WRC

Britain's Guy Wilks is leading the Production car World Rally Championship class over closest rival Gwyndaf Evans after six completed stages in Wales Rally GB. Wilks goes into day two of rallying with an advantage of only 3.2 seconds over his countryman.

Championship contender Gabriel Pozzo slid off the road on ss5, hit a tree, and pulled his front left wheel off. As he needed a win in Wales to claim the P-WRC title, Toshi Arai, in his absence, has taken the crown.*

Mark Higgins began the day leading the class, however, a puncture demoted him to third overall in the classification. He is 55.9 seconds behind Evan's second place.

Brother David, who is a guest driver at the event, is fourth, one minute 18.2 seconds behind his older sibling.

Fifth went to Alessandro Bettega who is competing this weekend in a Mitsubishi Lancer. The Italian is 10.8 seconds behind fourth and 14 seconds ahead of Patrik Flodin in sixth place.

Rounding out the top eight were Armindo Araujo and Andreas Aigner, only 0.8 seconds separating both drivers.
