Wilks continues to lead

Wilks continues to lead



British driver Guy Wilks continues to lead the Production car World Rally Championship in Wales Rally GB going into the final day of competition.

Wilks is in a comfortable lead with an advantage of one minute 07.7 seconds over closest rival Mark Higgins.

Third in the class is Juho Hanninen trailing Higgins by 19.4 seconds despite a puncture on SS10. Alessandro Bettega is fourth, two minutes 36.7 seconds behind the Finnish driver.

Portugal's Armindo Araujo finishes day two in fifth place, one minute 30.3 seconds behind Bettega. Araujo suffered suspension problems on SS8 while Bettega broke his front suspension and oil sump after a heavy landing on a jump in SS7.

David Higgins took the sixth spot at the end of the leg, 41.0 seconds from fifth place despite stopping on SS8 to change a wheel because of a puncture.

Rounding out the top eight were Andreas Aigner and Stuart Jones, seventh and eighth respectively, eight minutes 00.5 seconds between them. Aigner had a puncture on SS8 and lost about three minutes.
