Why Loeb just
can't stop
winning

Not content with winning this year's FIA World Rally Championship at a canter, Sebastien Loeb picked up yet more silverware last night when he was honoured at the Autosport Awards in London.

Readers of the UK-based magazine voted Loeb as Rally Driver of the Year for a seventh time, while the French legend, a nine-time WRC champion, also received the prestigious Gregor Grant Award for outstanding achievement.

After receiving his Rally Driver of the Year award from multiple Le Mans 24 Hours victor Tom Kristensen, Loeb said: “Nothing changes for me in terms of how much I want to win nowadays. The first world title was special and the 2010 and 2012 ones were very nice though because I won them in the town where I was born, in front of my family and friends.”

Loeb is unlikely to capture a 10th WRC title in 2013 after announcing earlier this year that he will only contest a partial programme of rounds next season as he prepares for a planned switch to the FIA World Touring Car Championship with Citroen from 2014. He will, however, tackle the 2013 WRC season-opening Rallye Monte-Carlo from 15-20 January.
