SS8: Equally matched

Jari-Matti Latvala has made it two for two with another stage win on SS8. The Finn finished just three seconds ahead of both Mikko Hirvonen and Marcus Gronholm, who tied for second on the stage. The BP-Ford duo stay first and second overall, respectively. Latvala however is up to 13th in the overall classifications after another impressive run.

Dani Sordo was fourth on the stage just one second behind the Finns, and remains fifth overall. Sebastien Loeb continued his conservative run of the rally with a fifth place finish, 4.3 seconds behind his team-mate. Petter Solberg was back up the stage finish leaderboard with a sixth place result, 0.3 seconds behind Loeb. Seventh went to Chris Atkinson in the other Subaru, another 0.2 seconds back. Atkinson has extended his lead over Matthew Wilson to 4.2 seconds for sixth overall. Wilson was eighth on the stage, just 2.2 seconds behind Atkinson.
