BP-Ford's Mikko Hirvonen continued his attack in Wales Rally GB scoring his fourth consecutive stage win of the rally. The young gun is leading the event now by 25.6 seconds over team-mate Marcus Gronholm.
Gronholm took second spot on the test, 4.2 seconds slower than his younger colleague. He was followed by his championship rival Sebastien Loeb, who completed the second run through Port Talbot 1.9 second slower than Gronholm. The Frenchman is third overall, 2.9 seconds behind second place and 28.5 seconds behind the rally leader.
Fourth went to Petter Solberg who started the afternoon on a charge after the midday service. He was only 2.7 seconds slower than Loeb to keep his fifth overall, 20.9 seconds behind Jari-Matti Latvala in the overall classification.
Chris Atkinson was fifth fastest, 1.5 seconds slower than his Subaru team-mate. The Australian is seventh overall, 11.7 seconds behind Citroen's Dani Sordo in sixth place.
Sixth quickest was Latvala, 2.6 seconds behind Atkinson, followed by Sordo, three seconds between them.
Stobart's Matthew Wilson continued in good form, scoring the eighth fastest time on the test, 9.1 seconds slower than Sordo. The young Brit is eighth overall 34.8 seconds behind seventh spot.
