BP-Ford's Mikko Hirvonen leads Wales Rally GB going into the third stage of the weekend. The Finn was fastest again during the second test of today, Resolfen 1, with a time of 12 minutes, 50.6 seconds.
Team-mate Marcus Gronholm was second on the test, 4.8 seconds behind the young gun. Championship leader Sebastien Loeb was third fastest, 4.1 seconds slower than the BP-Ford driver and 8.9 seconds behind Hirvonen. Loeb and Gronholm are second and third, respectively, in the overall classification, only 1.4 seconds separating them.
Jari-Matti Latvala was fourth fastest again, 4.0 seconds behind Gronholm. The Stobart driver is fourth overall, 10.8 seconds behind third place and 27.6 seconds behind the rally leader.
Fifth fastest was Citroen's Dani Sordo, 3.3 seconds behind the Stobart driver. He is sixth overall, 3.3 seconds behind Petter Solberg in fifth. The norwegian was sixth fastest on the stage, 3.7 seconds behind the Spaniard.
Seventh went to Subaru's Chris Atkinson who completed the stage 16.9 seconds slower than his team-mate. He is seventh overall, 13.3 seconds behind sixth.
Rounding out the top eight was Manfred Stohl, only 1.1 second slower than the Australian. The result elevates the OMV Kronos Citroen driver to eighth in the overall classification.
