SS15: Not out of the woods yet

SS15: Not out of the woods yet

Jari-Matti Latvala has taken his second stage win of the morning, this time without accompaniment. Latvala competed the stage 2.2 seconds ahead of Marcus Gronholm and has moved up to 11th overall, overtaking Jan Kopecky and setting his sights, now, on 10th place Mads Ostberg. Marcus Gronholm finished the test second, 5.4 seconds ahead of third place team-mate Mikko Hirvonen.

Sebastien Loeb was fourth on the tricky stage, 3.6 seconds behind Hirvonen. Fifth went to his team-mate Dani Sordo a further 5.9 seconds behind. Sordo made some more time on Petter Solberg for fourth overall, closing the gap to fourth down to 17.3 seconds at midday service. Solberg is not too concerned with the Citroen driver's pace, though, as the loss of time on stage was mostly attributed to a puncture picked up early on in the stage. With a change of the tyre at service, Solberg is confident he can retain his position over the final two tests.

Henning Solberg was sixth on the stage, four seconds behind Sordo, and 5.8 seconds ahead of younger brother Petter. Xevi Pons completed the stage's top eight, 7.7 seconds behind Solberg and 34.6 seconds off the leader's pace.

Matthew Wilson managed to extend his lead over Chris Atkinson to 24.1 seconds, with Atkinson admitting that he just didn't have the pace on that stage to keep up with the Stobart driver, despite Wilson spinning early on stage.
