Sordo back for day two

Sordo back for day two

Citroen factory team driver Dani Sordo has restarted Rally Mexico on day two of the competition after retiring on Friday’s first stage.

Sordo and co-driver Marc Marti retired when they hit a rock and broke a suspension wishbone on SS1, the rally opening 22km Alfaro test.

"I don't know what happened," said Dani. "I was keeping to the line made by previous competitors through a left-hand corner, but there must have been a rock because the wishbone broke. It's bitterly disappointing.”

"After our misadventure with Sebastien’s engine on Thursday, the news of Dani’s incident took a little time to sink in," said Citroen team principal Olivier Quesnel. "Even so, everyone at Citroen Sport soon snapped back into action to get Dani and Marc back running. On Saturday they will line up for the start in a bid to pick up some extra manufacturers' points."
