The first repeated stage of the rally so far brought two changes to the top-five positions when Dani Sordo moved up to third place and Gigi Galli into fifth.
The moves came at the expense of privateer drivers Urmo Aava and Andreas Mikkelsen who both dropped back through the 17km section. Sharp rain showers affected some drivers on the stage and Aava was one of those to say his pace was affected by the conditions.
Sebastien Loeb and Mikko Hirvonen were the pace setters once again, with Loeb completing his 100 per cent record of stage wins on the rally so far. Heading to the repeat of the Mokkipera stage Loeb’s lead stood at 6.6 seconds.
