Solberg stars
at UK rally
festival

Petter Solberg took a break from his preparations for ADAC Rallye Deutschland by performing a starring role at the annual Rallyday festival at the Castle Combe race circuit in Wiltshire, United Kingdom, on Saturday.

The Ford World Rally Team ace was making his debut at the annual event where he performed several demonstration runs in a Fiesta RS WRC.

“This was fantastic,” said the 2003 world rally champion. “There were a lot of people and a lot of nice cars and I must say I fit in very well because I love cars and there were some very, very special ones. The fans at Rallyday have a lot of passion too and that is why it was very enjoyable. I have been signing I don't know how many autographs, but it was great, and I loved going out on track in the Fiesta RS WRC - just give me a steering wheel and some power and I will do my job.”

Estonian Ott Tanak, who drives a privateer Fiesta in the world championship, was also present. He said: “It has been a really interesting day. I have been to a couple of similar events, but it was great to be here and there was a lot to see and do will all these different cars.”

ADAC Rallye Deutschland, round nine of the 13-event FIA World Rally Championship, gets underway with the first of 15 stages on Friday morning.
