In an online poll on WRC.com, 28 per cent of fans chose Ogier as their driver of the rally after the French ace became the first competitor in a Super 2000 car to win a full-length all-gravel special stage in the world championship on his way to a Super 2000-best fifth overall, another WRC record.
British privateer Louise Cook, a competitor in the Production Car World Rally Championship, received 18 per cent of the vote after she managed to finish the event despite aggravating an old collarbone injury.
Ott Tanak’s maiden podium in the WRC earned the Estonian 17 per cent of the vote with Hirvonen attracting 13 per cent. Meanwhile, 11 per cent voted for Mads Ostberg, who fought back from seventh to fourth following mechanical problems.
