Mikkelsen retires

Norwegian young gun Andreas Mikkelsen retired from Wales Rally GB on day two after crashing his Ford Focus RS, his first time driving the 2006 version of the car, on stage 9.

Mikkelsen was tenth overall before he clipped a rock, the same one that caught Marcus Gronholm back in 2003, rolling and damaging his car. As a result he was unable to continue on the stage and retired from the event. He is not rejoining the WRC field today under SupeRally regulations.
