WRC.com is looking back on the FIA World Rally Championship season just gone by picking out some of the epic images captured by the McKlein photographic agency that made 2012 one to remember.

December: Volkswagen chose the backdrop of Monaco’s famous Casino Square to launch its FIA World Rally Championship bid in early December. As well as confirming rising talent Andreas Mikkelsen for a 10-event campaign alongside ever-present drivers Jari-Matti Latvala and Sebastien Ogier, the German make used the event to show off an almost-finished version of its Polo R WRC. But while a number of media guests enjoyed dinner and a Sunday-morning lie-in, it was back to work for Latvala and Ogier, who went testing in France in preparation for the 2013 season-opening Rallye Monte-Carlo when the Polo will be used in competition for the first time.
