Google BookmarksWRC.com is looking back on the FIA World Rally Championship season just gone by picking out some of the epic images captured by the McKlein photographic agency that made 2012 one to remember.
June: Rally New Zealand’s Whaanga Coast stage is one of the most spectacular in the business. Here Marcos Ligato is pictured heading for victory in the Production Car World Rally Championship section of the Auckland-based round at the wheel of a Subaru Impreza WRX STI. It was the Argentine driver’s sole PWRC win of the year although his success was somewhat overshadowed by Sebastien Loeb’s outright triumph in a Citroen DS3 WRC. The Frenchman beat team-mate Mikko Hirvonen with Petter Solberg the top Ford finisher in third as Jari-Matti Latvala dropped out of contention with an early error aboard his Fiesta RS WRC.
