Block hits the
streets

WRC.com is looking back on the FIA World Rally Championship season just gone by picking out some of the epic images that made 2012 one to remember.

July: Most WRC aces were on holiday in July with one or two exceptions. Ken Block, for example, followed in the footsteps of Hollywood legend Steve McQueen by charging through the streets of San Francisco to film Gymkhana FIVE, the latest of his award-winning series of online videos. McQueen was immortalised for his role as Lieutenant Frank Bullitt in the 1968 movie, which includes a famous car chase in the Californian city, chosen by Block for Gymkhana FIVE because of its iconic bridges and steep windy streets. Block was back on WRC duty in Finland less than a month later with the Monster World Rally Team.
