Unusually for a WRC rally, the final day in Jordan is the longest of the event and includes a sting in the tail.
After a 0645hrs restart, drivers tackle two identical loops of three stages west of Amman covering 134.24km, split by a mid-morning return to the Dead Sea service park.
The final test of each loop is the monster 41.45km Jordan River, one of the longest of the season, which winds alongside the river bed next to Jordan's border with Israel's West Bank. The finish is on the shores of the Dead Sea at 1500hrs.
Weather conditions early on Sunday were slightly different to the previous two days. An overnight thunderstorm and rain shower had moved away from the area by the time of the first stage, but at 25 degrees Celsius the early morning temperature was a few degrees cooler than on Saturday. There was some high cloud as cars left the service park.
Forty-four of the original 54 entries re-started this morning, including Sebastien Loeb, who returns as a Superally entry after crashing out of Saturday’s competition. Petter Solberg will not restart - his Subaru was too badly damaged in a roll on SS16.
Here is the start list for Sunday’s WRC drivers:
1. Sordo
2. Latvala
3. Hirvonen
4. Atkinson
5. Aava
6. Wilson
7. H. Solberg
