Dani Sordo out of day one

Citroen team driver Dani Sordo is out of the first day of Rally Mexico after broken suspension brought his car to a halt on the opening stage.

Sordo, who was fourth on Rally Mexico in 2006 and 2007, stopped 15km into the 22km Alfaro stage (SS1) after breaking the front left suspension wishbone of his Citroen C4 WRC.

No further details of the incident are available at this time. It is expected that Sordo will restart the event on Saturday as a Superally entrant.
