Changes for Argentina 2008

Changes for Argentina 2008

Organisers of Rally Argentina have announced in Cordoba last Tuesday, December 11th, that the 2008 edition will feature a ceremonial start in Cordoba city itself.

The majority of the traditional stages in the Traslasierra hills to the west of the city will feature again, except that stages around Falda will be avoided, on account of the likelihood of sudden flooding expected at that time of year (27-30 March, late summer).

Other changes will be a return to the Camping San Martin stage, run three times as a publicity venue, instead of stadium stages.

On the Friday and Saturday, this will be an orthodox special stage course. On the Sunday it will be run as the final test of the event and as a side-by-side superspecial stage.

Also missing are the stages around Cosquin, frequently used in the past.

Rally Argentina will be the fourth round of the 2008 FIA World Rally Championship, four weeks after Rally Mexico.
