Estonian driver Urmo Aava damaged his Citroen C4 on SS18, losing six minutes and the possibility of his highest ever finish on a World Rally Championship round.
The 29-year-old privateer had been in fifth, but damaged the front-right suspension of his car during the 9km stage and retired on the road section to SS19.
The Jordan Rally was Aava’s second event of a 10-round programme with the PH Sport Citroen team in 2008. His previous best WRC finish came in Finland last year, when he guided a Mitsubishi Lancer WR05 to seventh overall.
