FIA WRC Academy frontrunner Brendan Reeves is calling on rally fans around the world to give him and his co-driving sister Rhianon Smyth the best possible chance of success on their next event in Finland in early August.

The Aussie duo require extra funds to undertake a pre-event test for the high-speed gravel event and are giving fans the opportunity to display their names on the bonnet of their Ford Fiesta R2, used as standard in the young driver-training series.

Supporters will be required to pay 200 Australian Dollars for the opportunity, which is restricted to 20 spaces on a first come, first served basis. They will receive a signed photograph in recognition for their backing and more information is available by emailing rhirally@gmail.com.

A statement from Reeves and Smyth said: “All funds raised will be used to allow Brendan and Rhianon to test in a Ford Fiesta R2 in Finland prior to the event and give them the best possible prospect for a great result. Your support will go a long way towards helping this young Australian team in their ambitions of winning the 2012 WRC Academy.”

Neste Oil Rally Finland counts as round three of the six-event FIA WRC Academy. The event is based in the university city of Jyvaskyla from 2-4 August. Reeves is currently third in the standings, 11 points behind leader Alastair Fisher.
