Martin Prokop

Prokop continued in the Super 2000 World Rally Championship for a second term and once again finished third best in his Czech Ford National Team Fiesta. He inherited top spot on the season-opener in Mexico following Nasser Al-Attiyah’s exclusion but never hit the same heights again. He ended the year by making his World Rally Car debut on Wales Rally GB in a Fiesta RS WRC, preparation for a 10-event campaign in the machine in 2012.

2012 got off to a very strong start, but a fire destroyed one of the team’s cars in the middle of the season, and after that he only scored 10 more points. However, 2013 is a fresh start. Prokop is set to contest all 10 European-based events plus Rally Guanajuato Mexico in March. The other two flyaway rounds in Argentina and Australia are subject to results and the finances of his team, Jipocar Czech National. Thus, it is possible that he will compete in all 13 rounds in his bid to finish as the top privateer in the 2013 season.
