Rally Portugal returns to the heartland of WRC in the north of the country for the first time in well over a decade and we at WRC Live are delighted to see its return!

I have covered the Fafe rally sprint and have seen just how many fans turn out for that event alone - almost a hundred thousand people on a six kilometre stage!

The fans up here have serious rally passion in their hearts. Already roads and rocks lining the stages have been adorned with the names of current rally drivers and legends from the past. The famous Fafe hairpin has a Scottish flag painted on its tarmac, in honour of McRae. I am sure we will see more tributes to past and present during the weekend.

There maybe new names to celebrate - all of the support championships are well stocked with eager crews keen to grab some glory. WRC2, has a field of almost 30 competitors with at least 10 in with a chance of the win. The Junior WRC with the Citroen DS3 R3's brings another 15 drivers to the mix - lots of talent here for us to watch.

The Drive DMACK Fiesta Trophy opens its doors for the first time this season with a truly international mix of drivers.

All that before we even get to the WRC drivers!

We will, as ever, endeavour to cover it all. Joining us this weekend is Molly Taylor, who has jetted in straight from her success at home in Australia after becoming the first female driver to win a round of the ARC.

She will be busy at the stage ends for us along with Colin Clark. Lisa O'Sullivan slips back into her studio chair to keep us all on the straight and narrow and I will be roaming around service bringing you all the latest news.
