Partners celebrate WRC success

More than 30 WRC partners, sponsors and guests enjoyed a fun-filled day of motorsport during a visit to this month’s ADAC Rallye Deutschland.

Representatives from current championship partners, including Michelin, DJI and OneBet, were joined by numerous potential future business associates at round 10 of the 13-event series, which was based at the picturesque Saarland holiday resort of Bostalsee.

WRC Promoter hosted the workshop and after a tour of the WRC’s leading teams in the new lakeside service park, guests viewed a presentation showcasing the championship’s success story during the last five seasons.

Managing director Oliver Ciesla highlighted key achievements of the growing series, including an annual TV audience rising to over 700 million, broadcast time increasing by almost 110 per cent and more than one billion online impressions in 2016.

“The WRC has enjoyed huge progress in the last five years,” said Ciesla.

“The championship continues to grow in key areas like digital reach, TV audience and broadcast hours. For some brands, the TV generated media value has risen by more than 300 per cent since 2013. All partners and car manufacturers benefit from the WRC’s growing popularity.”

In the afternoon, delegates had the opportunity to display their own skills at the wheel during a karting competition, followed by a visit to the official start ceremony and opening stage in the heart of Saarbrücken.
