Nicola Arena is one of rallying’s busiest and most experienced co-drivers.
Introduced to the sport by his parents, who took him to WRC events as a boy in the 1970s and 80s, he enrolled at co-driver school at the age of 18 and has been competing in national and international rallies ever since.
His professional career began in 1988 with four rounds of the Italian championship, and he honed his craft on home soil over the following seven seasons.
In 1996 he began competing on European championship events outside Italy, and he made his WRC debut in 1997 at the Sanremo-based Rallye d’Italia.
From then on his programme expanded to also include events in the FIA Asia Pacific and Middle East Championships, working with a wide selection of drivers from around the globe.
