Andersson, who runs a petrol station in his native Sweden, first got into motorsport through folkrace: an entry-level form of rallycross popular in Scandinavia.
He became synonymous for co-driving namesake PG Andersson - they twice won the Junior World Rally Championship together but are not related - until the driver’s funding constraints left Jonas free to seek alternative.
He began working with Mads Ostberg midway through 2009, first in a Subaru World Rally car, then, in 2011, a Ford Fiesta RS.
A successful campaign in 2012 included victory in Portugal, but after a largely frustrating time in 2013, Andersson and Ostberg announced a switch to Citroen for 2014.
