Double title winner Nil Solans secured a full complement of seven prize drives in WRC 2 after dominating the FIA Junior WRC in 2017. Four victories earned the Spaniard, who also lifted the WRC 3 title, a full campaign of seven rounds in an M-Sport-prepared Fiesta R5.

After beginning his career in his home country in 2012 in a Peugeot 107, Solans upgraded to a 207 the following season and finished third in the Spanish gravel series.

He did even better in 2014 by claiming second and made his mark in the WRC by winning the final round of the Drive DMACK Trophy on home roads.

After dipping a toe in WRC 2 the following year, Solans stepped back in 2016 to focus on the asphalt series in his home region of Catalunya. He finished third and was fifth in the French Volant Peugeot championship.

That laid the platform for an all-conquering 2017 and the opportunity to establish himself in WRC 2 in 2018.
