Son of experienced Dakar Rally rider Marco Bulacia, Marquito is just four days older than fellow WRC 2 rookie Kalle Rovanpera.

His motorsport career started in karting aged just seven, and he won three national and two regional titles in Bolivia. He progressed to the UTV rally category and finished runner-up in a regional series in 2015.

He stepped up to the national championship in 2016 in a Toyota Corolla Proto and produced a massive shock by winning his class at only 15-years-old.

In 2017 he mixed rallies in his home country, winning four, with gravel events in Italy. He was invited to the Bettega Memorial event in Bologna and drove a Ford Fiesta RS WRC to the semi-finals.

In 2018 Bulacia will start a minimum of five WRC 2 rounds in a Fiesta R5.
