Julien Maurin started rallying in 2007 and quickly made his mark in his native France, finishing eighth in the national gravel championship in 2008 after three top four results.
However, Maurin’s breakthrough came in 2010 when he won two rallies in France and started the WRC rounds in Portugal and France in a Ford Fiesta S2000.
The following year he was fourth in the France Amateur Trophy after two maximum scores and claimed third in the French asphalt series in 2012 in a Fiesta RS WRC. He also scored a career best 13th overall in his native WRC round.
Last year he dominated the asphalt championship, winning six rounds and taking eight podium finishes from nine rallies.
