Szczepaniak’s motorsport career began in hillclimb events in his native Poland. But it was as a co-driver that he really excelled.

Now Poland’s most experienced WRC co-driver, Szczepaniak began his career in 1998 with a six-year stint alongside Tomasz Kuchar, which included two seasons in the WRC’s top level.

In 2004 he switched to another leading Polish competitor, Leszek Kuzaj, and they won their national title for three consecutive seasons in a Subaru Impreza.

He began working with Michal Kosciuszko in 2007, beginning a three-year association with the Junior WRC, in which they finished second in 2009.

They finished third and fourth in the PWRC in 2011 and 2012, before several World Rally Car outings in 2013. With Kosciuszko’s plans unclear, Szczepaniak became the natural choice to partner Robert Kubica in 2014 following the retirement of previous co-driver Maciek Baran.

Now driving an M-Sport Ford Fiesta RS, the highlight of an eventful first season together was sixth place at XION Rally Argentina. The pair returned for 2015 in a Fiesta run by Kubica's own Italian-based team. They impressed with eighth on home ground in Poland and rounded off the season with ninth in Wales.
