Despite not turning 22 until the final day of 2014, Karl Kruuda has plenty of experience having started his career at the
age of just 14 in his native Estonia. Like many of his fellow countrymen, he learned his craft in the Estonia Youth Championship
in a Citroen C2 and a Honda Civic Type-R, before making his mark in the JWRC in 2010.
Kruuda was in contention for the title before eventually finishing fourth in a Suzuki Swift. The following year he undertook a mammoth programme in both the SWRC and the Intercontinental Rally Challenge in a Skoda Fabia S2000. The SWRC proved his strength and he finished sixth. He had quieter years by comparison in 2012 and 2013, but claimed two podium results in Estonian Championship rounds last year.
